My Home and Facilities
Children's needs are best met when space and resources allow children to play and learn.
The environment should be warm and welcoming to children and parents.
It should be safe and secure, with space organized and used to promote children's development.
I live in a spacious 5 bedroom house with a good sized garden, a large kitchen/ diner where we eat meals and do Art and Crafts and baking activities it also has the TV for watching DVD's or playing the Nintendo WII, this leads onto the lounge for quiet time, a large conservatory used for larger activities such as role play, dancing, meals are also eaten in this area etc. and a downstairs toilet, sink and double shower.
Outside the front garden is laid with lawn and hedges, it also has wrought iron fencing with a gate securing access and limiting risk.
To the back garden there is a patio area which has been made a sensory haven, whereby there are varying size stone and wood pathway/features, sweet smelling jasmine climbers and subtle lighting.
The garden is laid with lawn and there are a mix of bamboo and flowering trees and bushes , hidden amongst these is a large resting Buddha and metal and glass insects and wind chimes.
To one side of the property there is a fenced off area which holds a mini allotment for growing vegetables etc and also a sand pit and play house. To the other side of the property there is a blocked paved area which is used for scooters bikes, ball games and is fully secured by double wooden gates and fencing.
I am registered to care for up to 11 children under the age of 8 years of which no more than 5 can be under 5 and no more than 1 child be under 1.(this is when using an assistant)
I may leave an assistant alone with children for short periods of time providing that the arrangements are agreed and confirmed in writing by parents and the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage and the Childcare Register continue to be met.
All records of children and parents are kept accurate and up to date, they are stored securely and kept confidential at all times.
